The pool consists of about 45 people. Each Tuesday, I send an email with the upcoming week's schedule on it. You pick the winner of each game (no point spreads), and you place a ranking on each game based on your confidence in that pick. For example, if there are 16 games in a given week, you put 16 points on the game you're most sure of, 15 on your next most confident pick, etc, down to 1 point on the game you're least sure of, so that each number 1 through 16 is used once. If your pick for a given game is right, you get the points you put on it. If you're wrong you get zero. So, your score for the week is the sum of the points you put on the picks you got right. We pick the total points of the Monday night game as a tiebreaker, closest to the actual total in either direction. You have until kickoff of the week's earliest game to fill out your form and email it back to me. When you get the form each Tuesday, just "Reply With History", fill in the blanks, and send it along. Here's an example:

Regarding incomplete entries: If you leave a game unpicked (that is, blank for both teams), or if you use the same number on two different games, I'll gladly correct the error... in the way that's most harmful to you. If you leave a game blank, I'm giving you the USA Today's underdog. If you use a number twice, it follows logically that there's a number you haven't used yet, and I'm putting the higher number on the least-favored of your picks in those games. For example, if you send in a form with no 16's and two 1's, I'm looking at the two teams you picked for 1, and I'm taking the least-favored of the two and putting 16 on it on your behalf. You probably don't want me to do this, and I don't enjoy the extra maintenance, so do us both a favor and don't send incomplete forms. If you send a form with multiple errors, I'm giving you the worst possible result of the games you screwed up, according to the USA Today odds. If you leave the Monday Night points blank, I take the highest point differential in the pool that week and add one to it, and that's what you get.
There's a winner each week, taking a $50 prize. I also accumulate everyone's scores for the year, and the top seven total scores for the year earn money as well. For variety's sake, there are three other season-long categories as well. Prizes go to the best Monday night points picker, the person with the best record in correctly picking the wins and losses of an NFL team (any team, not a specific one), and the best at picking upsets correctly. Here are the prize amounts.
Over the weekend, I'll update the web site with everyone's picks (in This Week's Selections), for those who like to keep track on Sunday. I provide an update on Monday with Sunday's results and a look at who's eligible to win the week based on Monday's game. And, on Tuesday, I provide a summary of the week's results along with the schedule for the next week. It's a lot of information, and a lot of fun. Please contact me for any further clarification of the rules.
